All About Me

My name is Olive Bieni (pronounced Bee-yenny). Before you ask if it’s Italian, I would like to let it be known that I am the proud daughter of two Nigerian-American parents, Mercy and Philip, who I accredit many of my successes to. My story is that I was born in West Virginia, raised in Dallas, Texas, and am currently living in Los Angeles pursuing a career in acting. My mom is the one who picked up on my knack for performing when I was a toddler and would sing my made-up songs loudly in the aisle of the grocery. One look at my pre-school class photos and anyone would recognize that I was ready to put on a show.

When I became of age, my mom enrolled me in dance classes to serve as my artistic outlet. But from there I went on to dabble in soccer, ice skating, and tumbling before I finally settled on acting in middle school. I began involving myself in community theatre productions until I realized that this was exactly what I wanted to do with my life. My parents then signed me up for the Young Artist Training Program for musical theatre at Flower Mound Performing Arts Theatre (or Our Productions Theatre Co.) to hone my skills, in addition to being in my high school’s theatre program throughout my four years of schooling. This training proved to be a solid foundation before I began my college years.

I attended Pepperdine University as a Theatre Major where I received the chance to act in creative productions of Eurydice, Servant of Two Masters, and more. I recently graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre acting and a strong head on my shoulders. My goal with acting has become a mission to represent those in society who may not have a voice and bring their stories to life. And while I tend to identify more with dramatic roles, comedy will always be near and dear to my heart. I believe that in both genres lay truths about our world today.

In the end, art has always made me happy and I hope to bring that happiness to those around me. Let’s make some magic!
